Inquire.art Privacy Policy. What we collect and why, always in your control. No AI training. Nothing sold. No surprises.
This Privacy Policy explains how Artdnd LLC (“Artdnd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the company behind Inquire.art (the “Platform”), collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of the Platform. This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
We know artists are wary of uploading their work to platforms right now, and for good reason. Here is the short version of this policy, in plain language:
Inquire.art is operated by Artdnd LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy applies to inquire.art, the Inquire.art artist dashboard (app.inquire.art), all public artist profile and catalog pages, and any related services we offer (together, the “Platform”).
The Platform is currently intended for users located in the United States. See Section 10 for availability outside the U.S.
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact us at info@inquire.art.
When you create and use an artist account, we collect the information you provide directly, including: email address, name, Instagram handle, website, bio, your chosen profile URL, general location, and birth year.
Birth year is optional. You can choose not to provide it. If you do, it appears on your public artist profile in the traditional fine art format, for example “b. 1980.”
For each artwork you catalog, we store the details you enter: title, medium, dimensions, year created, location, price, notes, and the associated images you upload, along with how you organize that work into collections, tags, and catalogs.
Uploaded images are automatically stripped of embedded EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, device model, and timestamp, on upload. That information is never stored or displayed.
We do not collect or store your payment card or bank account details. Subscription payments are processed entirely by Stripe. Any payment information you provide to Stripe is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy, not this one.
When someone views a public or password-protected catalog, we log page views, time on page, and a timestamp of when a password was used to access the catalog. This activity is shown in aggregate on the artist’s dashboard so they can understand engagement with their work.
We do not collect a viewer’s name, email address, or IP address. Catalog viewing activity is not tied to any personal identifier we collect. See Section 6 for more detail on how per-password tracking works in practice, and Section 7.3 for what our analytics tools capture more broadly.
There is no inquiry form on the Platform. The “Inquire” button opens the collector’s own email client with a message addressed directly to the artist. The message goes from the collector’s email client to the artist’s, and never passes through Inquire.art’s servers. We do not collect, log, or store any information about inquiries.
We do not store IP addresses, whether from artists using the dashboard or from visitors to our marketing pages. Our analytics provider, PostHog, may briefly use an IP address to derive a general location, like country or city, before discarding it. It separately captures basic technical details such as device or browser type. See Section 7.3 for how this works.
We use the information described above to:
Inquire.art does not have an artificial intelligence model of its own. Artwork, images, and catalog content you upload are never processed by, or used to train, any AI or machine learning system, ours or a third party’s. This applies whether the work sits in a private catalog or a public one.
Inquire.art is also not a marketplace or discovery network. Art you upload is not surfaced to visitors browsing the platform. It is shared only when you choose to make it visible on your public profile, or when you share a specific catalog link and password.
This mirrors Section 4.3 of our Terms of Service, which states that this prohibition is absolute and cannot be overridden by a future change to this Policy or the Terms.
This includes the Mockup Generator, a planned feature that will place artwork into presentation mockups. It is built entirely with static HTML and CSS, with dimensions calculated programmatically. No artwork image is sent to or processed by an AI system at any point in that feature.
Every artwork in a shared catalog carries an “Inquire” button rather than a checkout flow. Clicking it opens the collector’s own email client with a message addressed directly to the artist. There is no form on the Platform. The message is sent directly from the collector’s email client to the artist’s, and never passes through Inquire.art’s servers. Inquire.art is not a party to any resulting conversation, negotiation, or sale (see Section 2.5).
Catalogs can be public or private. Private catalogs are protected by password, and artists can generate multiple unique passwords for the same catalog, typically one per recipient. When a password is used to open a catalog, we record a timestamp, along with page views and time on page, and surface that activity on the artist’s dashboard.
This data is aggregate and is not linked to a viewer’s name, email, or IP address. Any sense of “who” viewed a catalog comes from the artist’s own labeling of a password, for example naming a password after the recipient it was created for, not from information Inquire.art collects about the viewer directly.
A cookie consent banner is already implemented on the site, allowing visitors to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
We use the following cookies, all necessary for the Platform to function:
We use PostHog for web analytics on our landing and marketing pages, and for product analytics and error tracking within the authenticated artist dashboard. PostHog traffic is routed through our own domain via a reverse proxy.
By default, PostHog captures basic technical details such as device and browser type. It also derives a general location, like your country or city, from your IP address, then discards the address. We do not store IP addresses.
We use the Meta Pixel, a Google Ads conversion tag (deployed through Google Tag Manager), and a Reddit Pixel on our landing and marketing pages only. None of these run on public artist profiles, catalog pages, or the authenticated artist dashboard.
Transactional email, such as account notifications and magic links, is sent via Plunk from notify@accounts.inquire.art, using the notify.inquire.art sending domain, with info@inquire.art as the reply-to address. We share your email address, name, and the content relevant to the specific transaction with Plunk to deliver these messages. We do not enable Plunk’s open or click tracking on transactional email.
Marketing and product-update email is sent via Plunk from news@updates.inquire.art, using the updates.inquire.art sending domain. At signup, we share your name, email address, and plan type with Plunk. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or from your account settings. We may send product updates and marketing messages to any subscribed address, including paying subscribers, unless you unsubscribe.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Platform, each acting on our instructions:
We may also disclose information when required by law. This includes responding to a subpoena, court order, or valid legal request, or protecting the rights, safety, or property of Inquire.art, our users, or the public. If Inquire.art is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or its successor.
Inquire.art is currently built for, and offered to, users located in the United States. We have not yet completed the additional compliance work required to support users in the European Union, the broader European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. This includes GDPR and UK GDPR requirements such as international transfer safeguards and, where required, appointing a local representative.
Because of this, the Platform is not currently offered to individuals located in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, and we ask you to confirm you are not located in one of these regions when you create an account (see Section 12.3).
Inquire.art is based in the United States, and our infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel) is hosted in the U.S. If you access the Platform from a location we do support, including Canada or Australia, your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States.
Your artwork, catalog, and profile information is retained for as long as your account is active. Viewer analytics, including catalog and artwork views and access timestamps, are retained for as long as the associated artwork and/or catalog exists.
A free account is considered inactive if there has been no login and no catalog or artwork views for 24 consecutive months. We’ll email you twice before anything happens, once at 23 months and again at 23.5 months, so you have real notice and a chance to log in and keep the account active.
At 24 months of inactivity, the account moves to a deactivated state. Your catalogs and public profile go offline, but nothing is deleted. Logging in at any point reactivates the account immediately. If the account remains inactive for a further 12 months in this deactivated state (36 months of inactivity in total), it is permanently deleted, following the same process described in Section 11.3.
When you close your account, we retain your account data for 30 days to allow for account recovery or a data export, consistent with Section 9.1 of our Terms of Service. After 30 days, your data, including artwork images, catalog content, and profile information, is permanently deleted from our active systems and from Supabase backups. No copy of your data persists beyond this window. A data export remains available for 30 days after closure and is typically fulfilled within 5 business days, consistent with Section 9.2 of our Terms of Service.
Because there is no inquiry form on the Platform and we never collect or store information about inquiries (see Section 2.5), there is no inquiry history to retain, during an active account or after closure.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to request an export of your data. You can submit a request by emailing info@inquire.art, with in-app tools coming soon. We will respond within 30 days.
In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2 of this Policy. We do not sell personal information for money. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (if applicable), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
As explained in Section 10, Inquire.art does not currently offer the Platform to individuals located in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland. When you create an account, we ask you to confirm that you are not located in one of these regions.
If you are located in one of these regions and have created an account, please contact us at info@inquire.art. We will work with you directly on your request, including access, correction, deletion, or an export of your data, while we complete the compliance work needed to formally support this region.
Inquire.art is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. This mirrors the eligibility requirement in Section 1 of our Terms of Service. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We will notify you of material changes to this Policy by email to the address on file and through a notice in your Platform dashboard. Material changes take effect no sooner than 30 days after notification, except where changes are required by law or to address an urgent security matter, in which case they may take effect immediately with notice provided as soon as reasonably practicable. Minor, non-material corrections or clarifications may be made without advance notice. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
